If you fly frequently and don't want to deal with the hassle of long security lines, consider getting a credit card that offers a statement credit to cover the application fee for a Global Entry or TSA Precheck membership. These programs, called Trusted Traveler Programs, can help you get to your gate faster and allow you to skip the hassle of taking off your shoes or removing electronics and liquids from your bags.

Several credit cards offer these statement credits. Determining which will be best for you could depend on the specific terms for when and how you receive the statement credit, along with the cards' other features and fees. Here are our top picks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Global Entry vs. TSA Precheck

Global Entry and TSA Precheck memberships last for five years, and they both give you the same benefits when you're flying domestically—access to special airport security lines and fewer requirements during the security screening. Global Entry additionally offers expedited U.S. Customs and Border Protection screening if you're flying to the U.S. from another country.

Can I Use the Global Entry or TSA Precheck Credit for Someone Else?

The credit cards' terms require you to use the credit card for the application or renewal fees if you want to receive the statement credit, but you don't have to pay for your own membership. You can pay someone else's fee, which could also be a great way to use the benefit if you have multiple cards that offer these statement credits.

How Does the Reimbursement for Global Entry or TSA Precheck Work?

If you qualify, you will get reimbursed with a statement credit for up to $100 to cover the cost of applying for Global Entry ($100) or TSA Precheck ($70 to $78). However, it may take one to two billing cycles for you to receive the statement credit. Continue paying your credit card bill during this time to avoid late payments.
