Here's how Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit works and how to decide if it makes sense for you.

What Is Experian Cash™?

Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit gives you access to cash with an advance that ranges from $25 to $250, depending on your eligibility. Here's how it works:

  1. Sign up for a free Experian membership, and we'll connect you to Brigit.
  2. Add your primary checking account to Brigit via Plaid.
  3. Find out if you qualify for an advance and how much you are eligible for. There's no credit check, so your credit scores won't be affected.
  4. Once you see if you qualify, you can upgrade to an Experian Money Plus℠ membership to expedite access to your advance.
  5. Receive your advance, typically within two to three business days. (You can choose to expedite your advance for a fee.)
  6. Pay back your advance on a flexible schedule, usually within two to three weeks.

Advances have no interest, no late fees and no penalties. Once you have paid back an advance, you can receive additional advances, with a limit of one active advance at a time.

How Experian Cash™ Can Help

Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit can help you manage your everyday expenses with advances that you can use for any purpose you choose. Key benefits include:

  • Affordable advances: Unlike expensive payday loans or credit card cash advances, an Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit advance has no interest charges, late fees or penalties.
  • Flexible repayment options: Pay back your advance on a flexible schedule that fits your needs. You'll typically have two to three weeks to make the payment.
  • Get cash quickly: Get your advance generally in two to three days. Need money faster? For a fee, you can choose to expedite your advance.
  • No impact to credit scores: Applying for an Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit advance does not require a credit check, so it won't affect your credit scores.

Experian Cash™ vs. Cash Advance App

How is Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit different from a cash advance app (also called a paycheck advance app or early payday app)?

Cash advance app: Advances via cash advance apps are typically repaid by automatic withdrawal from your next paycheck. Depending on the timing and your financial situation, this could leave you short of cash again.

Experian Cash™: When you get cash with Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit, automatic payments are withdrawn from your connected bank account, generally within two to three weeks, giving you more control over where your money goes.

If you opt for an Experian Money Plus℠ membership, which includes Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit, you'll also enjoy benefits that could help you take control of your cash flow and get ahead financially. (Learn more about Experian Money Plus℠ below).

Who Should Consider Using Experian Cash™?

Paycheck timing doesn't always align with your expenses. Experian Cash™ powered by Brigit may be a good fit for you when:

  • You want to avoid late fees or overdrafts. Your utility or rent autopayment is due to come out of your checking account soon, but your account is short by $50. Experian Cash™ can fill the gap, helping to avoid overdrafts and late fees.
  • You need to cover time-sensitive medical costs. A visit to urgent care comes with a copay and a prescription for antibiotics that you need to fill as quickly as possible. Handle the costs with an expedited advance via Experian Cash™.
  • You have urgent transportation expenses. You need to put gas in the car to get to work, but your paycheck is four days away. Experian Cash™ can help ensure you don't have to miss shifts and lose income.
  • Your family has unexpected needs. Children often come home from school with requests, like a sports team fee or payment for a school field trip. Cover the cost with Experian Cash™.
  • You have poor credit or no credit. Experian Cash™ doesn't require a credit check, so it may be an accessible option for cash even if you don't qualify for traditional financing.
  • You want to avoid high interest rates. Credit card cash advances and payday loans typically have high interest rates. An advance with Experian Cash™ has no interest.
