I have a customer who is trying to resolve a credit issue. I work for a bank. The account entry says “Medical Payment Data.” He does not know how to contact these people to pay the account. Can you help me help this customer?
In the status category what does “closed/current” mean? If an account was closed it should be closed right? I just do not understand why some just say “closed” and others “closed/current.”
Some people are saying a “short sale” is better than a “foreclosure” on a credit report, but is that true? Don’t both circumstances drop the credit score significantly?
I received a call today from my credit card company trying to sell me their credit fraud protection program, and she told me that whenever I order my free annual credit reports allowed by law that my credit scores are negatively impacted each time. Is this true? I went online to the Federal Trade Commission website to verify her claim but there was no mention of the impact to the credit score when using this program, only that it is free from each credit agency annually.

What is the difference between a “Plus” score and a “FICO” score? On a June credit report from Experian my Plus score was 790 (330-830), while my FICO score with Experian was 889 (300-850). I realize both scores are excellent, but I would like to understand it further.

Is this true? Can she make a report to Experian and the other credit bureaus that will post to my credit history?
I disputed an account on my credit report. It came back “updated,” and on the status shows “closed.” Then it states, “account closed by grantor’s request.” Does this mean it is closed and I don’t have to pay that account, or does it mean something else?
In the long run, will my credit be more positively affected if I pay off collection agency debt in full as opposed to accepting and paying a settlement amount?
Is it true that when you get married you automatically inherit your spouse’s bad debt or bad credit and does it show on your credit report? I have a close friend that said that is exactly what happened to him. I seriously doubt him, but just the same I need to know the truth. I will be marrying soon and was wondering if I should be concerned due to my future spouse’s “bad debt.”
