HIX Screening and Enrollment
Identify Patients Who Meet Income Requirements for Federal Subsidies
As part of the individual health insurance coverage mandate of the Affordable Care Act, as of October 1, 2013, Americans had the option to go to a new health insurance exchange (HIX) marketplace in their state to enroll in a private plan.
Adults with annual incomes up to 400 percent of the federal poverty level ($45,960 for individuals, $94,200 for a family of four) are eligible for federal subsidies and premium tax credits to help offset the cost of coverage.
Improve the Patient Experience
HIX Screening and Enrollment enables healthcare organizations to identify patients who meet the eligibility criteria for HIX tax credits and federal subsidies and automate the enrollment process by pre-populating the state’s HIX application form. In addition, this comprehensive solution includes:
- Subsidy calculator: Enter different income levels, ages and family sizes to estimate the patient’s eligibility for subsidies.
- Health benefits comparison chart: An overview of plan benefits provided by the state’s HIX*.
