Introduction

Experian Marketing Attributes allows clients to license Experian demographic and behavioural attribute files in part or full to perform analysis and develop solutions for themselves and/or their end clients. 

This article will take you through details of how to receive data.

Experian points of contact

  • Main project point of contact: Experian Data Designer.  They will be your main point of contact during the setup and delivery of your Marketing Attributes file, they will help facilitate the data transfers and maintain any needed delivery schedules.
  • Interest in other Experian products or services: Experian Account Executive or Relationship Manager. Please work with your sales team for data append contracting or if you are interested in using more Experian products or services.

Experian Marketing Attributes Process

  1. When the contract for Marketing Attributes is signed, an Experian Data Designer will introduce themselves and be your main point of contact during the setup of the project.
  2. Select your delivery location and work with Experian to enable transfers. 
  3. Experian will format the output data file(s) based on the guidelines in this article below.
  4. Experian will transfer the data output file to the established delivery location.
  5. Experian will send a notify email to the client which includes the data output file name, file layout, reports, and data dictionary.

Standard delivery locations & cadence

These are the standard delivery locations that we support for you to send the Experian data.

  • Experian Secure Transport (aka Client SFTP, STS)  

  • Client Hosted Cloud Storage (AWS/S3, Google Cloud, Azure)*

File formats:

  • Delimited (pipe)

*Disclaimer: Data ingestion from and delivery of the Marketing Attributes output to Snowflake and Google Cloud have an extended set up time of 3-4 weeks. If the data is needed sooner, we can ingest the input data or deliver the first output via one of the other delivery locations, like sFTP or S3.

These are the standard delivery cadences that are contracted for refreshed outputs (Note the actual refresh schedule will be what is in the contract the below are the available options)

  • One-time

  • Monthly 

  • Quarterly 

  • Annually

Data Outputs

The Marketing Attributes repository will include as a Standard:

  • Full US National Geography 

  • Consumer ages 18-99 (all ages)

  • Household level file – includes information for up to 8 adults per household. 

  • Unique Living Unit ID’s (LUID) per household and Person ID’s (PID)

  • Recipient Reliability Code (RRC) 

Standard File Deliverability Options

  • Experian Marketing Data format:  Standard, Premium, Complete, or Custom

  • Delivery frequency: Monthly, Bi-monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, or Annual 

  • Pipe delimited – with field header records 

  • Compression: gzip

  • Ship method: Secure Transfer or Client S3 Buckets 

  • File splits: 30gb (pre compression) each

Standard File Naming

  • Template: [client reference]_[file name]_X[extract]_[yyyymm]_[file split].zip

  • Example:      ACMECorp_Consumerview_X300_202405_1.zip

Email Notifications

  • After each shipment. Includes:

                    - File Naming and Quantities

                    - Layout with data dictionary
