Iowa SF 603 Change Notification

This measure changes the definition of “taxable wages” in the state. They removed some of the language referencing “another state which extends a like comity to this state, with respect to employment….”, therefore, the result is the employer must pay contributions for wages paid in the state and not from bordering states.

Effective Date

Upon passage of bill.

This change is non-consequential but should make determining what taxable wages are in this particular state.

Recommended Action

Make sure all platforms you use for payroll administration are updated to reflect this change in statute.
