Kentucky SB 140 Change Notification

This measure provides that for unemployment insurance claims filed between January 27, 2020, and December 31, 2020, overpayment recovery may not be initiated until lapse of a one-year period. Certain additional deadlines are also extended to one year.

  1. This measure provides that on or after the effective date of this measure, the claimant may request a new hearing relating to notice that the claimant received after March 12, 2021, but are still within the one-year period.

Effective Date

Upon enactment.


Kentucky Senate Bill 140 Implication to Stakeholders

There is no direct implication to stakeholders currently. It is more so relevant and implicating to claimants. But it is a good sign for employers that the state is doing everything it can to maintain its fund balance.
