Indiana SB 371 Change Notification

There are many changes within this bill. However, a change with the greatest impact for employers is a requirement that all hearings before an Administrative Law Judge or the unemployment insurance review board concerning disputed unemployment claims be set as telephone hearings, unless an objection is made.

Indiana Senate Bill 371 Implication to Stakeholders

Employers will be able to participate in hearings via telephone instead of having to participate in-person. This should save employers considerable time.

Recommended Action

Employers should be aware if they want to participate in-person, they are allowed to object and request it not take place by telephone.
