Regulatory Update: Cameroon Temporary Protected Status Designation Terminated

The Secretary of Homeland Security announced the termination of designation of Cameroon forTemporary Protected Status, with EADs expiring August 4, 2025.

Effective Date

Aug. 4, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (90 FR 23697)


Employer Recommended Action

  • Be proactive and draft a communication for the employees notifying them of the change.
  • Run a reverification report and ensure that you capture those impacted by the change.

Completing Form I-9

  • EADs with a Category Code of A12 or C19 and a Card Expires date of June 7, 2025, associated with the TPS designation of Cameroon expire on Aug. 4, 2025.
  • Employers must reverify TPS Cameroon beneficiaries who presented these EADs before they start work on Aug. 5, 2025.
