Michigan Senate Bill 40 Implication to Stakeholders

Employers could see an increase in their unemployment charges in the future. Since benefit charges may impact unemployment tax rates, it is recommended that all charge statements be audited for accuracy. Inaccurate or fraudulent charges should be questioned and removed from the employer’s account.

    Recommended Action

Audit all benefit charge statements received to confirm accuracy since benefit charges have an impact on unemployment tax rates. Question any errors or discrepancies discovered.
