by Legislative Update 1 min read July 18, 2025

The E-Verify Status Change Report, originally launched on June 20, 2025, has been updated as of July 15, 2025, to include a new field: “Revoked Document Number.”

This enhancement allows employers to:

  • Identify revoked Employment Authorization Documents (EADs)used in E-Verify cases.
  • Match the revoked EAD numberwith the one presented by the employee during Form I-9 verification.
  • Determine if reverification is requiredusing Form I-9, Supplement B.

Employer Action

If the EAD used by the employee matches the revoked number, the employermust reverifythe employee’s work authorization with a different acceptable List A or C document usingForm I-9, Supplement B, Reverification and Rehires. If it doesn’t match,no action is neededuntil the current authorization expires.

Benefits of the E-Verify Status Change Report Update

  • By including theexact document number, the system reduces ambiguity and the risk of wrongful reverification or non-compliance.
  • Employers can nowproactively identify and address revoked EADs, minimizing the risk of employing unauthorized workers and avoiding potential penalties.
  • Rather than relying on general alerts or manual checks, the report now providestargeted, actionable data. This streamlines HR processes, ensuringfaster response times.
  • Amore dynamic and responsive E-Verify systemthat adapts to real-time changes in immigration policy.
