About Bruce McClary

Bruce McClary is the senior vice president of membership and communications at the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. Based in Washington, D.C., Bruce is considered a subject matter expert and interfaces with the national media, serving as a primary representative for the organization. He has been a featured financial expert for the nation’s top news outlets, including CNBC, CNN, New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Bruce began his nonprofit credit counseling career in 1998 after several years in the lending and debt collection industry. Since that time, Bruce has provided one-on-one financial counseling to thousands of consumers, trained financial educators, and reached millions more through print and broadcast media. Bruce often draws upon his direct experience as a lender and debt collector when speaking to journalists about matters of personal finance.

Bruce also manages the annual consumer financial surveys that focus on active-duty military households, veterans, and the general population. In addition to his duties at the NFCC, Bruce serves on the Experian Consumer Council and is a member of the National Press Club.

About Rod Griffin

Rod Griffin is the Senior Director of Consumer Education and Advocacy at Experian. With more than 20 years of experience in the information services industry, he is an expert in consumer credit reporting and scoring, fraud and identity theft, and other consumer data use issues. His expertise has made him a sought-after source for national print, online, and broadcast media.

Rod leverages a variety of communication tools, including social media platforms to maximize reach and impact while efficiently managing costs. In his role, he implements strategic public education and financial literacy grant programs that not only drive positive brand value but also strengthen client relationships and empower consumers to become more financially capable.
