A tax lien is a claim against assets filed by a taxing authority against
property of a person who owes back taxes.
Experian has a national name-based search, gathered and updated daily. Experian's Public
Record system reports on federal, state and county
tax liens. The Tax Lien report will help point out if a customer
is becoming a higher risk due to nonpayment of taxes. In this
situation, the tax agency is taking security of the debt. Some examples of tax lien information
that will be delivered are:
- Liability Amount
- Debtors
- Original Filing Date
- Filing Number
- Filing Location
- Release Date
Bankruptcy and Judgment information are also included in the report.
Please note: Not all information may be available for all
businesses. Some successful bankruptcy, tax lien and judgment searches may generate reports with no data
at all. An "empty" tax lien report
still gives you valuable information.
