It’s that time of year — for turkey.

During Thanksgiving 2015, 736 million pounds of turkey were consumed in the United States. Hungry for more turkey data?

  • The average weight of turkeys purchased for Thanksgiving is 16 pounds. C2T
  • An estimated 46 million turkeys were eaten on Thanksgiving, 22 million on Christmas and 19 million on Easter last year.
  • More than 212 million turkeys were consumed in the United States in 2015.
