  • Can I opt out of your mailing list?
  • You can opt out when registering, by ensuring the checkbox "Yes, please send me emails about special offers, exclusives and promotions." is not selected. Or, once you are signed in you may go to "My Account", click on the "Account Information" tab, and opt out.

  • How do I sign in?
  • Existing customers can sign in by clicking on the Sign in link in the upper right hand corner of your screen, by clicking the following URL, or by cutting and pasting the address into your browser's address bar: https://www.experian.com/small-business/myaccount/login.jsp. In the Returning Customer Sign In box, fill in your email address and password.

  • Do you store my credit card information?
  • Customers have the option of having Experian store credit card information in order to make future purchases faster and easier. All credit card data is encrypted and stored on our secure servers. Please review our Privacy Policy for further information.

  • Is your data secured?
  • Our data is secured. Secured Socket Layer (SSL) encrypts the information you send us as well as the information we send back to you. Experian's new security standard requires 128 bit encryption and will work with any modern browser.

  • What do I do if I forget my password?
  • To get password help:
    From the Customer Login page, click on the 'Forgot your password' link. Enter your email address and click the 'Submit' button. Be certain to enter the email address you used when creating your account. You will receive an email with a temporary link to reset your password. You may also call customer service at 1 888 808 8242.

  • What is the source of the data for marketing lists?
  • Experian is an original source compiler, meaning we collect data directly from more than 3,500 original public and proprietary sources, including:

    • White pages
    • Census data
    • Public records, both state and local
    • Product registrations and surveys (self-reported)
    • Property/realty records such as property deeds
    • Mail-order transactions
    • Other proprietary sources

    The data offered on Experian Small Business is tested and validated. It then is cleansed and combined using Experian's proprietary logic to create the most accurate and comprehensive repository of consumer marketing information available. This process sets us apart from other data suppliers who typically rely on secondary data sources. Since we acquire data directly from the original source, we have in-depth knowledge of the data. We understand the fine distinctions within each data element. The end result is that you receive the most definitive marketing information in the industry and a more complete picture of your customers and prospects.

  • How do I submit a mail piece and/or telemarketing script for compliance approval?
  • When you place an order that contains sensitive data elements, your order will be placed on hold for compliance review. Experian needs to approve the actual mail piece or phone sales script to be used with this list. Delivery of your list will be held until your item(s) are approved. Please email, fax or mail your marketing piece or telemarketing script to the Experian compliance department.

    Upon approval, we will release the order. You will be notified by email, and can proceed with downloading the list. If denied, you will be notified by email with the reason(s) your pieces were rejected. You have the option of resubmitting a revised piece for further review, or cancel your order.

    Please be assured that any information you provide to us for these purposes will be held in the strictest confidence and will be available only to those employees responsible for approving marketing offers or performing audits of our policies and procedures.

    In evaluating your marketing offer, we will use the Direct Marketing Association Guidelines for Ethical Business Practices as our standard. For example, the DMA guidelines indicate that marketers should not display personal data in an offer so as to presume specific knowledge about a consumer (i.e., "Because you have a new baby..."). In addition, we make sure telemarketing scripts adhere to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).   • How many times can I use the list I download from Experian Small Business?
  • Marketing lists purchased from Experian are valid for multiple uses within a 12-month period.

    Mailing Use: The United States Postal Service® has made changes to their requirements on the National Change of Address® (NCOA) Move Updates that are applied to mail files. Effective November 23, 2008, NCOA Move Updates must be applied to a mail file within 95 days of the mail date. For example, the earliest NCOA process date for a mailing that would drop on November 23, 2008 is August 28, 2008. Given the USPS® regulations, we strongly encourage you to re-order your mailing lists after 60 days. Experian processes NCOA on monthly basis for its list rental databases, the NCOA certification form is included with your Data Select order file.

    Telemarketing Use: Telemarketing lists purchased from Experian are valid for multiple uses within a 12-month period. However, please keep in mind that we update our databases monthly. With all the changes that can occur with consumers and businesses (such as moving, telephone number disconnects and connects, changes in income, homeownership, marriage, etc.) we strongly suggest that you reorder your telemarketing list after 60 days. You will notice the benefits in connectivity and response by using the freshest data possible.
