If you have good or excellent credit, take a closer look at what this card has to offer.
Quickly Rack Up Hilton Honors Points
The Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card boasts a hefty intro bonus for new cardholders: Spend $2,000 on eligible purchases within 3 months of opening your account and you'll earn a whopping 125,000 bonus points. Going forward, you'll earn significant rewards points on a range of other purchases all year long. Specifically, you'll receive 12 points per dollar spent on eligible purchases directly with a hotel or resort in the Hilton portfolio; 6 points per dollar on eligible purchases at U.S. restaurants, U.S. supermarkets and U.S. gas stations; and 3 points per dollar spent on all other eligible purchases.
Hilton Honors points can be redeemed for stays at more than 4,800 hotels and resorts all over the globe, so whether you're traveling for business or seeking an all-inclusive resort, you can find the perfect option. You can redeem points for free nights at any participating property, as well as for spa treatments, fine dining and other experiences at participating hotels.
Hilton Honors points aren't just for travel, though. You can also use your points to make purchases from Hilton's dining and shopping partners, including Amazon.com. Feeling generous? Donate your points to charity, transfer them to other cardholders, or pool your points with friends and family. You can also redeem points for exclusive experiences, such as VIP tickets to concerts, professional sporting events, cultural experiences and culinary events.
Get Special Hotel Advantages
With a Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card, you'll automatically get complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status, which entitles you to free breakfasts, room upgrades, guaranteed low rates, late checkout and other perks at participating hotels. Spend $40,000 on eligible purchases in a calendar year and you'll be upgraded to Hilton Honors Diamond status, which gives you additional perks such as bonus points, preferred rooms and access to an executive lounge. But you don't have to spend quite that much to enjoy special hotel benefits: Spending $15,000 on eligible purchases in a calendar year earns you a free weekend night stay.
Travel Comfortably with Accident Insurance and Preferred Seating
Whether you're flying to Cleveland or China, this card has several useful travel features that can help make every step of your journey more enjoyable. Pay for your fare with the card and you may be eligible for American Express Preferred Seating. Relax in style before your next flight with complimentary membership in Priority Pass Select, which gives you access to more than 1,200 airport lounges. Once you enroll in the Priority Pass program, you'll get 10 complimentary lounge visits every year.
Enjoy Entertainment and Shopping Perks
Even when you're not on the road, you can benefit from the entertainment access and shopping perks the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card has to offer. For instance, you'll get exclusive access to ticket presales and cardholder-only events that might range from Broadway shows to pop concerts and sporting events. You also receive complimentary membership in the ShopRunner program, which gives you free two-day shipping on eligible purchases at participating retail websites.
The card's Plan It feature can help make it easier to manage paying for your purchases. If you're making a big purchase with the card, you can use Plan It to set up a monthly payment plan with no interest (however, there is a fixed monthly charge). You can combine up to 10 purchases of $100 or more into one plan and have as many as 10 plans going at once. From buying plane tickets to redecorating your living room, this feature can make it easier to get the things you want right away without paying interest.
Get Access to American Express Benefits
At the end of the year, American Express provides a 12-month summary of all your charges on the card, so you can review your annual spending (a smart step toward better money management). If there's ever a fraudulent charge on the card, you can rest easy knowing there is zero liability for fraudulent purchases you report to Amex.
The Amex app, available for Android and iOS, lets you track your spending and rewards, check your balance, pay your bill and find special offers. Touch ID and face recognition log-in options let you use the app conveniently with confidence your data is secure.
One downside to this card: A late or returned payment may lead to a penalty annual percentage rate (APR) of 29.24%. If you have trouble staying on top of due dates, consider setting up autopay for your account to ensure that you never miss a payment.
|Purchase APR: 15.74%-24.74% Variable||Grace Period: 25 days|
|Transfer APR: 15.74%-24.74% Variable||Annual Fee: $95|
|Cash advance APR: 25.24% Variable||Balance Transfer Fee: $5 or 3% of transfer amount, whichever is greater|

|Foreign Transaction Fee: None|

Do you want your children to start learning money management early? Do you want to track your household's spending? American Express' authorized-user policy lets you add anyone age 13 or older as an authorized user on your account. You can set limits on authorized users' spending and get alerts to help you track their purchases, so you're always in control.
You earn points on your authorized users' purchases, while they can benefit from your credit score to help build a good credit history of their own. Authorized users also enjoy all the features and perks of the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card. That means if your teenager wants to score early access tickets to the latest K-pop heartthrob's upcoming concert, they can do it without pestering you.
Is This Card Right for You?
For a reasonable annual fee of $95, the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card offers lots of rewards, plus a hefty intro bonus so you can start redeeming rewards right away.
