Abducted child located using consumer information data

Abducted child located using consumer information data

The following true story illustrates the importance of public and proprietary records data used in the efforts to find missing children. In the case below, the successful outcome was due in large part to the investigative records platform CLEAR, from Thomson Reuters, which is broadly used by law enforcement as well as by analysts who work for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Experian supplied consumer identification data that is accessible through CLEAR.

Missing Child Found:

It was every parent’s worst nightmare when a stranger snatched a 4-year-old girl as she played with her sister and some friends in a field across the street from her home. An Amber Alert was issued soon after the abductor fled with the child in his vehicle.
An analyst working the case at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children ran a search in CLEAR that resulted in a possible address.
After setting up surveillance on the location where the suspect was believed to be, law enforcement quickly apprehended the individual. Found inside the location, the missing child was soon reunited with her family.

It’s success stories like these that make Experian proud to partner with Thomson Reuters to provide law enforcement and organizations like the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children with data that makes CLEAR such a valuable tool.
