Our approach to the development of a credit bureau is to harness the power of the data that is available in each market.
Experian has met the increasing global demand for information by expanding its bureau operations into several markets. Bureau solutions are now available in an increasing number of countries around the world.
Experian strives to leverage the combination of global best practices and leading edge technology in order to provide advanced bureau solutions customized to fit local market requirements. Building on existing expertise, Experian continues to examine opportunities for credit bureaus in a number of developed and emerging markets worldwide.
Experian's bureaus, and those of our partners, continue to grow and evolve on a daily basis. The following is an outline of the current solutions either operated by or developed by Experian:
Bulgaria - Brazil - Denmark - Estonia - India - Italy - Morocco - Netherlands - Norway - Republic of Ireland - Russia - Singapore - South Africa - Spain - United Kingdom - United States
In addition to setting up our own operations in various countries, Experian offers leading edge software solutions and consultancy services to local bureau operators. This is often the case within emerging economies where the need for a performing bureau solution usually develops rapidly leading to a request for a turnkey, state of the art, solution.
Experian developed an Arabic credit bureau model for a local consortium of banks and finance houses. The solution has been live and supported by Experian since 1999.
The system operates on Experian's renowned platform with trade and enquiry data, integrated with a scoring solution. In 2008, the consortium of banks was taken over by Kuwait Central Bank; it is currently the only licensed credit bureau in the country
Formed by eleven Turkish banks, Kredi Kayit Burosu entered into a technical partnership agreement with Experian in 1996, to establish the first and only consumer credit bureau in Turkey. The bureau became operational in November 1998 and went fully live in April 1999.
The database comprises positive and negative trade records and bureau enquiries. A bureau score and a fraud prevention solution have also been deployed within the past years.
The Experian bureau was developed and deployed in 2006 for a local Credit bureau service provider. The solution provides trade and enquiry data with a generic bureau scoring model fully integrated within the reporting process.
Experian has developed a consumer credit bureau system for Aljisr in 2001. The solution provides the "standard" trade and enquiry data solutions. In 2009 a commercial credit bureau solution was also developed for SIMAH. Both bureau models have been customized on local requirements and integrated with value added services to strength the potential of the consumer and commercial credit reports.
