New bankcard credit availability remains low

New credit availability remains low, as new bankcard limits continued to stay flat throughout 2009. New origination limits were $40 billion in Q4 2009 which is relatively unchanged from the $39 billion originated in Q3 2009. Current bankcard originations now represent only 38 percent of the new limits issued in Q4 2007.
