Optimised subject lines could generate 10.8 billion opened emails

One of the first goals of any email marketing campaign is to ensure that your customers are opening your emails. Using search data and analysing online trends you can optimise your subject lines to make them more relevant to your customers and increase open rates. If better optimised subject lines improved open rates by just 1% across the UK, an additional 10.8 billion emails would be opened every year getting your messages in front of your customers.  Read our latest whitepaper on optimising email deliverability here

1 Facebook fan = 20 visits to your website

Since the Facebook phenomenon first appeared, marketers have been scratching their heads trying to work out how much a ‘Like’ is worth. Experian Hitwise benchmarked visit data against the number of Facebook fans the top 100 online retailers received. This showed a very strong correlation such that for every additional fan acquired a retailer would receive 20 additional visits to its website over the course of a year. Understanding audiences will bring the right kind of fans to your Facebook page and deliver more visits to your website.   Learn more here

Mobile optimised emails have a 5% higher click to transaction rate

How users experience your email content will depend on the device they open it on. 95% of emails are only opened on one device (i.e. desktop, mobile etc), but making sure you’re sending the right email that will render properly on the correct device is essential for increasing conversions and sales.  People are 5% more likely to click and transact from an email optimised for mobile, making it an imperative to not rely on a single email creative. 6.5 billion searches a year that go nowhere

There are over 2.2 billion visits to search engines made by UK Internet users every month. Some 26 billion searches are made every year, of which only 75% are ‘successful searches’ which result in a click on a website. This means the UK makes 6.5 billion searches a year which go nowhere. If a user cannot find what they are after they won’t make a click, which usually indicates a gap in the market. There still remains a huge opportunity to exploit some of those 6.5 billion ‘unsuccessful searches’ by creating relevant content for those terms that will entice the user to click through onto your website.  To learn more about how you can optimise your search terms here

Different audiences search in different ways. Internet users in Blackburn are Britain’s most prolific searchers making more searches per person than anywhere else in the UK. We can understand the search behaviours of virtually any group of individuals you can imagine.
