I have an eviction and financial judgment against a former tenant. Do I need to report it to Experian in order for it to appear on his credit report?
Public record information, including civil judgments, is obtained directly from court records. If you won a monetary judgment against a former tenant, it will appear in their credit report without any action on your part.
Credit reports will not indicate that someone has been evicted from their residence. However, an Experian credit report may show rental payment history. Evictions can be reported to tenant screening companies, where they would then appear in the individual’s tenant screening report, which may be accessed when they apply for future rental property. Experian does not provide tenant reports.
Thanks for asking.
