Status line describes when information will be deleted

Dear Experian,

On the credit report, the account status details say, “This account is scheduled to continue on record until July 2010.” This is July 2010. Does that mean July 31, 2010? After July, will this item fall off of my report?

Dear RIE,

The account will be removed no later than the end of July.

Delinquent accounts are removed from your credit report seven years from the original delinquency date. The original delinquency date is simply the date the account first became delinquent. The statement indicates the original delinquency date of the account was in July 2003.

It’s best to wait until after the end of the month if you plan to get your credit report or apply for new credit. That will ensure the account has been deleted from your credit report.

Thanks for asking.
